Weddings
Real family entertainment for everyone, regardless of age.
Tim will perform in mingling style during receptions or around the tables during
the meal.
Alternatively, some couples like to provide guests with more of a ‘show’. Tim’s
cabaret
act can be performed
‘at the drop of a hat’ in most circumstances, effortlessly commanding the
attention of a room full of guests who are always happy to sit back and enjoy
the show. It’s a lively and spontaneous performance with the emphasis on fun and
audience participation. Family and friends love to watch each other getting
involved, with some great photo opportunities included.
This performance is self-contained and creates a focal point which could also be
used to introduce the speeches.
Sensitive to the joyous and friendly atmosphere of wedding celebrations, Tim
fits in like one of the family – albeit an eccentric and extroverted one!
The ‘Prince of Fools’ court
jester is also available for weddings taking place in historic surroundings or
with an historic theme.
Tim Bat has entertained at many wedding celebrations, including those of writer
Ian McEwan and of DJ/Broadcaster Jo Wiley.
“Tim is great value. He ushered our guests into the reception with style and
then amused – and amazed- us while we were milling around and
dining. He put a smile on everyone’s face; setting the tone for the afternoon’s
celebration.”

Birthdays
As with wedding celebrations, Tim’s unique performance is perfect for birthday
parties. Especially appropriate for the big ones –Eighteenth, twenty first,
thirtieth, fortieth and all the way to ninetieth - Tim has done them all,
adapting his show to suit the age range of the audience and the requirements of
the client.
“Tim’s brand of humour appealed to the teenagers at my daughter’s 18th
birthday party. They responded enthusiastically to the audience participation.
It certainly added to the fun.”
Jamie
Rankin, Micklesfield Hall, Hertfordshire
“Tim entertained at my 70th birthday in a pub where our guests were seated in
two adjoining rooms. He held everyone’s attention throughout his excellent act
which appealed to all age groups, and we would certainly book him again.”

Barmitzvahs & Batmitzvahs
Mingling amongst guests around the tables, Tim Bat entertains everyone with
quirky tricks, dazzling dexterity and spontaneous humour.
His infectious mood for fun helps create a special party atmosphere.
Tim Bat’s spontaneous performance generates great excitement amongst the younger
guests, with Tim concentrating his efforts on the Bar- or Batmitzvah and their
friends.
He has a rare ability to entertain children and young people without patronising
or embarrassing anybody. Despite a relaxed demeanour, Tim works hard and fast to
meet the challenge of the low boredom threshold and truncated attention span of
the early teens.
By gaining their respect with formidable skills and natural repartee, he
effortlessly keeps control of groups of excited youngsters keen to join in.
They all get to see ‘close-up’ how Tim does his juggling and the Bar- or
Batmitzvah has the first chance to try some of the tricks for themselves.
Immaculate tailoring and finesse with his bowler hat lend Tim an air of
sophistication much appreciated by the adults, and that the younger guests
recognise as ‘cool’; the ultimate accolade from a thirteen year old, and an
honour frequently bestowed upon Tim’s performance, even by his own teenaged
children!
He has many years experience of entertaining at Bar- and Batmitzvah parties,
performing in private homes as well as large venues such as the Carlton Tower
Hotel, Grosvenor House, the Four Seasons, London Hilton, The Dorchester,
Claridges, and innumerable smaller locations.
Tim’s truly inter-active repertoire includes:
YOYO
Expert tricks & illustration of yoyo history – it was originally used as a
hunting weapon, demonstrated with the help of a brave volunteer.
TOPS
Japanese top spinning is really impressive. This unique skill was learned by Tim
from top expert Yoshito Fujita whilst performing in Nagoya, Japan. The peg tops
(Koma) are spun very fast by casting into the air on rope. With a flick
of the wrist the top returns flying through the air to be skilfully caught
spinning on the hand. The balanced and spinning top can be transferred to a
guests hand for them to easily balance until the spinning stops. A very popular
game of Tim’s invention is to get a small top spinning on a spoon and for young
guests to pass from spoon to spoon around the table, seeing how far they can get
without dropping it.
BALL JUGGLING
The Five Ball Challenge! Tim juggles with five balls, a guest attempts to catch
them in the hat. This really brings out the competitive spirit, to see who can
catch the most balls. Tim gets the willing participants to await their turn and
encourage their mates while everyone has a go, making a real performance out of
the whole thing. It is difficult but not impossible to catch all five balls, and
funny to watch people go for it. Each attempt gets a round of applause and there
is always a big cheer for the one who catches the most balls.
The balls are soft bean bags so they don’t bounce around or hurt anyone.
Tim also offers the Bar- or Batmitzvah the opportunity to learn to juggle three
balls in an intensive five minute one-to-one session. They are unlikely to
actually learn on the day but the session is intended to set them up for
practice in their own time, for which Tim can provide written instructions.
DEVIL STICKS
The ancient Chinese gravity defying trick; another one to watch being
demonstrated or to have a go at, safely under Tim’s control.
EQUILIBRISM
Tim weaves his way all around the tables whilst balancing a peacock feather on
his nose. The feather begins to fall but by skilful movement the balance is
maintained, even when the feather is leaning 45 degrees from vertical – so it
appears to balance even when virtually horizontal!
Balancing the feather is much easier than it looks, and guests (even the
youngest ones) are amazed that they can do it at the first attempt. Tim will
bring several feathers for this purpose. It’s an entertaining sight to see a
‘Peacock Parade’; several children on the dance floor all feather-balancing at
once to see who can keep it up the longest.
LASSOO ROPE SPINNING
The Kemp Town Cowboy rides again! Except there is no horse. Or cows. But Tim’s
the boy from Kemp Town and he has rope. In fact, he’s the only juggler in town
who can spin a rope like a rodeo professional. It’s fascinating to see ‘fancy
roping’ close up and to be shown how it’s done. The Finale is the ‘Texan Skip’
where Tim skips back & forth through the big vertical loop (space permitting) as
many times as he can whilst the guests count the skips and cheer him on.
AND THAT’S NOT ALL... Lots more tricks and laughs throughout the party and
brilliant photo/video opportunities to help make this a most memorable occasion
for the whole family.
